What Is Invisalign?

It is important that you have an understanding of what Invisalign is and what it can do for you before you dive into the treatment. Invisalign is a type of orthodontic treatment that makes use of transparent aligners made of plastic to straighten your teeth.

Unlike braces, these aligners are not worn permanently. You wear them for two weeks at a time before switching out to a different pair, which helps to slowly move your teeth into the correct position. Aligners are made to be worn for at least 22 hours per day, and patients are only to remove them when they are eating or cleaning their teeth.

Depending on the particular case, completing Invisalign treatment can take anywhere from six months to two years. Of course, our dentists will be able to advise you on treatment length.

Are You A Good Candidate For Invisalign?

Not all patients will be good candidates for Invisalign. Invisalign, in most cases, is best for patients who have moderate alignment problems at most. For patients who have an overbite, underbite, crowded teeth, crooked teeth, or gapped teeth, Invisalign might be a great option. The best way to find out is to come in for a consultation so that our dentists can examine your mouth.

All Invisalign treatment begins with a proper dental examination. It is through this examination that we can find out if you are a good Invisalign candidate.

Why Should I Use Invisalign To Straighten My Teeth?

There are many benefits when it comes to Invisalign. Invisalign allows you to eat whatever you want throughout your treatment, as you have the ability to remove your aligners before eating.

Brushing and flossing can be an entirely different task when you have regular braces. With Invisalign, brushing and flossing will be just as easy as it was before your treatment.

Invisalign is far more comfortable than a standard set of braces. You won’t have to deal with metal wires scraping at the inside of your cheeks of poking your gums, and your mouth will feel far less sore overall. Plus, Invisalign aligners will be removed and changed out every few weeks, making them much more manageable than standard braces, which traditionally require six-week visits.

Beyond pleased with our experience with Dr. Hoffman!! My son, Cameron, had work done and everything turned out way better than I could've ever expected. Dr Hoffman saved all of his teeth, where other dentist told me the only option for two of his teeth were to be pulled. His smile is so beautiful and I couldn't think them enough! They were sooo kind!! The dental hygienist were so sweet, and throughly explained everything to me. There was no judgement. They made this whole process so comfortable. Yes, it was pricey, but worth EVERY penny. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
