The Dental Anesthesia Center Joins the 2026 Step Up for Down Syndrome Celebration
Our team spent a wonderful day in Forest Park this June for Step Up for Down Syndrome, the Gateway Down Syndrome Association’s largest celebration of the year. The Dental Anesthesia Center hosted a booth at the festival, where our doctors and staff met families, handed out toothbrushes, goody bags, and other fun giveaways, and enjoyed a day of celebration with the Down syndrome community.
We are grateful to the Gateway Down Syndrome Association for 50 years of service to families in our region, and to everyone who organized, volunteered, and walked.
A Day of Celebration in Forest Park
Held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the Festival and Parking Plaza in Forest Park, Step Up for Down Syndrome brought together thousands of families, friends, and supporters for a day of games, food, live entertainment, and a one-mile awareness walk. This year’s celebration was especially meaningful, marking the Gateway Down Syndrome Association’s 50th anniversary of serving the St. Louis region.
Formerly known as the Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis, the Gateway Down Syndrome Association supports more than 2,200 individuals with Down syndrome and their families across Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois, with programs that reach every stage of life.

Caring for patients with Down syndrome and other special healthcare needs is a meaningful part of what we do at The Dental Anesthesia Center. For many of these patients, a traditional dental visit can be difficult or overwhelming. Sedation and general anesthesia options can allow needed dental care to be completed safely and comfortably, often in a single visit.
Events like Step Up for Down Syndrome give us the chance to celebrate alongside the families we care for, outside the office and in the community.
The Dental Anesthesia Center is a privately owned practice that proudly remains doctor-owned, allowing us to keep our focus where it belongs, on exceptional, patient-centered care. Our Clayton office serves patients throughout the St. Louis area who cannot comfortably receive care in a traditional dental setting, including many patients with Down syndrome, autism, severe dental anxiety, and other special healthcare needs.
