The Dental Anesthesia Center is a state-of-the-art anesthesia and dental facility. Dr. Michael Hoffmann and Dr. Sean Thoms, both dentist anesthesiologists, provide dental services accompanied with Deep Sedation and General Anesthesia. Patients have a choice in the way their dentistry is completed.
Individuals with anxieties, phobias, severe gag reflex, or have difficulty getting numb are candidates for General Anesthesia services, as are young children or individuals with physical or mental disabilities who are unable to cooperate. Treatment may be completed in as little as one visit. All types of dental care- including fillings, crowns, bridges, root canals, gum therapy, dental implants, extractions and cosmetic dentistry- are available.
“Twenty-five years of experience combining sleep dentistry and cutting-edge technology have enabled me to help my patients overcome fear, trust, and health issues that prevent them from seeking care,” says Dr. Michael Hoffmann, who completed residencies in Hospital Dentistry and Dental Anesthesiology. He is a diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology and National Dental Board of Anesthesiology and is certified in Deep Sedation and General Anesthesia by the Missouri Dental Board.
Dr. Victoria Daugherty, a General Dentist, places an emphasis on dentistry with oral sedation as well as non-sedation services. She has a special interest in sleep apnea treatment, Invisalign, implants, veneers and other cosmetic procedures. Dr. Mayer states, “Changing a smile can change a patient’s outlook on life. A beautiful smile invokes confidence. I want my patients to be well-informed, understand their options and realize the opportunity that cutting edge dentistry can provide.”
Dr. Sean Thoms, a General Dentist certified in Deep Sedation and General Anesthesia by the Missouri Dental Board, has a primary focus in dentistry for patients diagnosed with Autism, Alzheimer's, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome and other special needs. As stated by Dr. Thoms, " Sedation and Sleep Dentistry have allowed me to serve those individuals with special needs who are unable to find care. My focus is to provide a "dental home" for this population that will enable them to achieve and maintain oral health."
